Gaming giant Playtech continues to widen its global influence through two major developments: a new sports betting partnership with MSC Cruises and the launch of an innovative live trivia game show in New Jersey’s online casino market. These moves not only reflect Playtech’s strategic growth trajectory but also demonstrate its drive to deliver immersive and interactive entertainment across both land and sea.
Playtech has officially entered a new chapter in its partnership with MSC Cruises, aimed at bringing onboard guests a real-world sports betting experience. This collaboration will first roll out as a pilot program, covering eight ships over the course of 284 cruises in various international locations.
Should the trial yield favorable results, the sports betting service is expected to be extended across MSC Cruises’ entire fleet of 24 vessels, further enriching the entertainment offerings available to passengers.
“We’re very proud to be able to deliver the excitement and engagement of sports gaming to our guests through our partnership with Playtech,” said Mara Friso, head of casino at MSC Cruises. “Our fleet of modern cruise ships will provide our customers a wide array of immersive digital content as a complement to our state-of-the-art cruise casinos.”
Yori Arami, VP of sports commercial at Playtech, added: “Our long standing Playtech Neon customer MSC Cruises is the perfect partner for Playtech Sports, extending our sports betting experience to its guests worldwide. This is another great opportunity for us to further expand Playtech’s global footprint in the cruise leisure industry.”
The move signals a notable advancement for Playtech in bridging the gap between land-based and at-sea gaming experiences. It also highlights the potential for sports betting to become a core component of cruise ship entertainment in regulated territories.
